The second oldest synagogue has been re-opened in Lipník

12.12.2011

After several months of renovations, the oldest synagogue in Moravia and the second oldest in the Czech Republic (after the Old-New Synagogue in Prague) has been opened for tourists for the first time in its history. From the next tourist season, the synagogue will be a new stop on the regular free guided sightseeing tours of the town. The tours are held daily except Monday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with their starting point on the main square. In the former synagogue, the visitors can see an exhibition of photographs from the time when the Jews still inhabited the building or admire the reticulated vaulting with brick ribbing in the Vladislav-Jagellon Gothic style.
